Triathlon is more

For me, triathlon (of course not just cycling but also swimming and running) is more than just an individual sport. For me it's a team sport where community matters!

It's like jumping in cold water

My first triathlon was out of my comfort zone. Swimming in the mass, getting hit in the face, cycling like gone wild, alone in the wind with my wet clothes on and finishing with running feeling like stepping on eggs. Triathlon was ALL new but in the end I felt like I was new born. It was a silly idea that turned into a big part of my life. I will share my competition and training experiences with you here - stay tuned!

2018 was my first year competing. I learned a lot. I met a wonderful community. What I can say:
Trust yourself, go for it and give it all your heart! It's worth it.

Swimming can be tough. With a team and regular training it's fun. I got into the technique, trained so hard and kept pushing. I joined a swimming club and the university team, did swimming competitions, but I had to learn that swimmers, who started young, will always be faster than me. Still, I am here to improve. If I am good at something: I can motivate myself to try harder!

Cycling at first was something I was scared of. I only knew men who did competitions by bike. But when I saw the first woman in a race I fell in love. It looked so cool and I wanted to do it, too! And here I am now, cycling more than anything else. If you told me this four years ago I would believe you - not in my wildest dreams.

Running for me is the best example to prove yourself that you can do it. It's where competing started for me, where I had the most success and the most pain. I appreciate how far I've come in running already but I also have a lot of respect for the sport. As a running coach I fell in love with passing on what I've learned and to show others  to believe in themselves again.
